Award-winning Chef-hatted Broadbeach restaurant Miss Moneypenny’s has a new Head Chef – meet Tapos Singha.

Originally from Sydney, Tapos has worked the kitchens of numerous highly acclaimed restaurants, including Merivale’s 3-hatted Est at Establishment, two-hatted Lucio’s in Paddington and The Watsons Bay Hotel Est.

Lucio’s closed recently after 40 years of serving the likes of Prime Ministers, the Beatles and Al Pacino to name a few. 

Tapos started his career at Bang Street Food in 2015 - a unique concept of modern Bangladeshi cuisine – as a Bangladeshi native, he was able to celebrate the street food of his youth.

The Good Time Group Holdings CEO, Ben Walsh says Tapos brings a wealth of experience not only from his time at several award-winning and Chef-hatted restaurants, but also having owned an internationally celebrated restaurant in Sydney’s Crown Street.

Miss Moneypenny’s is part of The Good Time Group Holdings, which also operates Miss Moneypenny’s Noosa and Fat Freddy’s Beach Bar and Diner, which is located next door in the heart of Broadbeach.

The group also just acquired the freehold going concern of the Stradbroke Island Beach Hotel – a truly unique rarity of a hotel situated overlooking breathtaking Cylinder Beach. The hotel comprises of a main bar, bistro, beer garden, gaming room, function room, a drive-through and detached bottle shop and 15 hotel rooms.

Caretaking and letting rights for the luxury apartment complex adjacent to the hotel are also included.

The pub is the only hotel on North Stradbroke Island and attracts around 400,000 visitors per year, making this sale one of the hotel transactions of the decade.
