Maison Lanson, one of the oldest Champagne houses in the world and the official Champagne supplier to the British Royal Family, is thrilled to announce a new Champagne Brut has now arrived in Australia.
The long-awaited Le Black Création 257, which launched in France in 2023, is the latest addition to the Champagne house’s prestigious portfolio. It makes for a vibrant and refreshing choice, perfect for elevating the celebratory atmosphere at upcoming festive occasions. Whether it’s toasting during Christmas, ringing in the New Year, or hosting lively Summer parties, this Champagne brings an air of sophistication and joy to any gathering.
Le Black Création is the 257th blend of the house’s signature multi-vintage Brut based on the 2017 harvest and is the first of the numbered series to replace the previous Le Black label. The blend is dominated by Pinot Noir (51%), Chardonnay (36%) and Meunier (13%) and has aged for four years in the cellars before being revealed. In addition to this year’s wines, a precise selection of reserve wines has been drawn from the collection, making up 45% of the final blend.
The blend is generous with flavours of ripe orchard fruit and notes of mandarin, lemon and grapefruit on the palate, while aromas are described as a bouquet of tangy fruit such as William pear, apple and citrus. After a few minutes, aromas of freshly-baked pastries appear. Le Black Création pairs well with mushroom ravioli and Parmesan shavings or salmon fish and chips with sweet potato fries.
Maison Lanson was founded in 1760, making it one of the world’s oldest Champagne houses, awarded a Royal Warrant in 1900 and also serves as the official Champagne supplier to the British Royal Family.
The Le Black Création 257 is now available at selected Dan Murphy’s stores RRP: $69.90.
