Brisbane fine-diner, The Wolf, has been announced as Queensland’s only short-listed contender in the prestigious Restaurant & Bar Design Awards for 2024.
The dreamy Euro-inspired restaurant by Fabian Rebelo is a hidden treasure of Brisbane’s CBD, turning heads with its sophisticated, mid-century style and elevated dining offering.
Boasting a blend of French, Spanish and Italian flair, Chef-hatted The Wolf invites guests to disconnect, unwind and enjoy. Tucked away in Post Office Square on Queen Street, enter beyond a hinged glass door, rust-coloured curtains and a wine cellar corridor to discover a sultry and intimately sized 50-seater dining room executed in collaboration with Melissa Collison Design Studio.
Dimly lit and windowless, the interior vibe is chiefly styled with earthy tones and textures, retro tiles, original artwork layered over Schumacher wallpaper and a range of considered, comfortable seating options from high-top tables to booths and free-standing tables.
The restaurant concept is inspired by an original 1960s Louis Vuitton design – a gentle nod to the calibre and prestige of the venue’s offering.
It is not the first time The Wolf has been recognised for its visually cunning interiors. Earlier this year, the venue was shortlisted in the Eat Drink Design Awards for Best Hospitality Design and prior to that in the 2023 Australian Interior Design Awards for Best Restaurant Design.
Owner Fabian Rebelo says: "I created my second Brisbane restaurant, The Wolf, to script a distinct food story; each year is a new chapter and opportunity to evolve and allow for a wonderfully cultured story to unfold. Our vision required a design that would keep pace and evolve on this journey with us and that’s exactly what Meliss and her team delivered – the epitome of timeless elegance.
"When you step into The Wolf, you’re entering a space strategically designed to encourage meaningful conversations, envelope your senses and foster memorable experiences that turn into lasting memories.”
One of the few CBD restaurants open for lunch and dinner midweek, The Wolf is the perfect backdrop for corporate meetings, special celebrations and casual catchups.
