As the last days of Summer start to fade into memory, there’s still time to celebrate the season that was and the one that is on the horizon with a glass of bubbles!
Cargo Road Wines 2022 Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc is the perfect drop for any occasion, with a pale straw colour and vibrant, pale lime green hue. This wine contains all the joy and excitement of bubbles with lovely flavours of ripe fruit grown in a cool climate.
On the nose, expect a great varietal expression with green apple, tropical notes of pineapple and passionfruit, along with hints of capeskin.
The palate shows true varietal definition - highlighted by grassy, mineral flavours, the wine lingers on the tongue with lovely mouthfeel, eventually revealing rich tropical and stone fruit nuances.
The addition of bubbles presents a fine mousse and makes it a very enjoyable wine at any time; easy drinking, much like a Prosecco. Pair this sparkling with Thai dishes and other spicy cuisines, especially with stir-fries, white fish, a niçoise salad or oysters and nam jim dressing.
Located on Cargo Road in Orange, this vineyard is one of the oldest in the region, established in 1983 and growing grapes such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Barbera, Zinfandel, Lagrein, Nebbiolo, Shiraz, Gewurztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling.
The vineyard is run holistically using ‘best practice’ management techniques to ensure they are always improving the land and environment in a safe and reputable manner, while maintaining a successful business.
