Pinot Noir grapes date back to before the First Century AD and are still one of our favourite go-to red drops…you won’t be disappointed with this Pinot Noir from Hughes & Hughes!
A sub-label of Tasmania’s Mewstone Wines, this 2022 drop is from fruit from vineyards in the Coal River, Derwent and Huon Valleys. Predominantly whole berry and held on skins for 16-21 days, it has been pressed directly to and matured in oak.

Generous blue fruit add to crunchy red foundations with subtle reductive edges, while rich tannins support full flavours and ripe acidity - making for an elegant and extremely flavoursome Pinot Noir.
Mewstone is a small, family-owned winery in Southern Tasmania, located on Flowerpot Jetty Road in Flowerpot about 40 minutes south of Hobart, focusing on premium Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Riesling wines.
Brothers Matthew and Jonathon Hughes established the vineyard on the banks of the D’Entrecasteaux Channel in 2011 from a former cherry orchard, where both Mewstone and Hughes & Hughes label wines are now produced, creating expressive single-site wines with minimum intervention,

Sourcing quality grapes from other local vineyards, the Hughes & Hughes range allows for more daring winemaking endeavours, using techniques from Jonathon’s world travels.
