Technically, it’s not drinking alone if the bartender is there!
You know the drill…it’s Friday afternoon and time to relax after a long and stressful work week.
What better way to chill out than with a cocktail at your favourite bar or restaurant? Alternatively, you could take the party home and concoct the perfect drink to usher in the weekend.
Welcome to our Cocktail of the Week series, where each Friday we will highlight a cheeky creation to tantalise tastebuds and set the tone for good times.
Bringing Italian fine dining to life, discerning Western Sydney diners head to Candelori’s on The Horsley Drive in Smithfield to appease cravings for pasta, pizza and contemporary dishes. Open for more than 20 years, this family-owned and operated restaurant has been refurbished to boast a huge floor space catering for every occasion from business meetings to long family get-togethers, in surrounds of white-clothed tables and sparkling glassware.
Mixologist Aayush Karki delivers a stunning cocktail recipe for Matteo Rocks – named after the newest member of the Candelori family – made with Grey Goose vodka, Sauvignon Blanc, elderflower liqueur, passionfruit and peach purée.
"This drink holds a special place in my heart because it is all about turning the ordinary into something extraordinary,” he tells AGFG. "I’ve crafted this cocktail using one of the finest New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc wines, which brings that X factor and a sense of novelty to the mix.”
It must be good! A customer ordered 8 in one night…
