Good Food & Wine: A Tasty History
The inaugural Good Food & Wine Show was staged in Melbourne in 2001. The first event included 130 exhibitors and was headlined by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver. Not only Melbournians attend this amazing event but also visitors from all over Australia and some international guests - the three day event boasted over 38,000 attendees. 2002 saw the launch of the event in Sydney where the public popularity and demand of the event was huge. In 2005 the event was staged in Brisbane for the first time and in 2008 the inaugural Good Food & Wine Show Perth was held. The Adelaide event made its debut in 2010. In 2008 the Sydney show set a new record for attendance, attracting more then 53,000 visitors over the course of three days.

Many famous Australian chefs have appeared at the event including Gordon Ramsay, Ainsley Harriott, Gary Mehigan, George Calombaris, Manu Feildel, Ian Parmenter, Elizabeth Chong, Gabriel Gaté, Jill Dupliex, Rick Stein, Kylie Kwong, Bill Granger, Luke Mangan, Matt Moran, Ben O’Donoghue, Tyler Florence, Pete Evans, Tobie Puttock, Donna Hay and Gino D’Acampo.

This year the Good Food & Wine Show will be held in the five major cities throughout Australia; every city has its taste and will offer it’s own flavourful food experience. In each of the five cities you will be able to experience celebrity chef demonstrations and try dishes from Manu Feildel, Matt Moran, Gary Mehigan and George Calombaris!

At the Fisher & Paykel Celebrity Theatre you will be able to join Australia’s finest celebrity chefs who will entertain you with their demonstrational cooking classes and gourmet tips from the industry. At the Riedel Decanter Bar you can relax in its intimate setting and explore premium wines tastings with our panel of wine experts. At the Riedel Wine Theatre you can prime your taste buds and learn the art of wine tasting, discover how to recognize top wines, and obtain some food matching tips.
