Discerning Melbourne foodies looking for a good time find contemporary Pan-Asian bar and restaurant GALOK, in the heart of Chapel Street in Windsor. Combining influences from across the Asia-Pacific, expect new fun ways of bringing fusion to various cuisines at this sleek venue, where neon signage, an onsite gin still and creative cocktails take your dining experience to a whole new level.
Why should you drop in for a meal at GALOK – Pan-Asian Bar & Restaurant? Here are three good reasons:
What’s your most popular dish:
Smoky pork belly Ssam-style, with Southeast Asian herbs, sesame ssamjang and cos lettuce. Our signature Wagyu beef (MB 8+) tartare and yellowtail kingfish ceviche are also very popular; while our Junglebird of Penang cocktail – kaffir lime leaf and lemongrass-infused Havana 3 rum, Campari, galangal, pineapple, lime and apple – is a real crowd-pleaser.
What's your point of difference:
We make premium quality cocktails and the gin we use in our cocktails is distilled onsite.
Cocktail creation is done in-house where we introduce various techniques like sous vide infusing, coconut milk clarification and distillation to create flavourful, luscious and textured drinks. Our cocktail range incorporates flavourful elements that we can see, smell and taste across the Asia-Pacific.
Basically, we do a contemporary Asian twist on the cocktail classics with fun theatrics added to bring the overall experience to the next level.
What is a fun fact that not many people know about the restaurant?
GALOK is the Chef’s name in Cantonese, Carlo.
We have Happy Gin hour from 3pm-6pm for selected gin cocktails.
GALOK will be introducing a Pan-Asian fusion afternoon tea on weekends.
