Earth Hour 2024 is back on Saturday, March 23 – take time out for nature and join the world’s biggest movement to protect our planet.
This year will be an Earth Hour like no other with individuals, schools, businesses, restaurants and communities across Australia and around the world coming together to raise critical funds to support a healthy future for people and our planet.
You have the power…Earth Hour has become so much more than just switching your lights off!
Check out what these two Chef Hat-awarded restaurants have planned:
Head to Homage Restaurant in Grandchester on Saturday, March 23 for an unforgettable Earth Hour Dinner while soaking up the enchanting atmosphere of candlelit elegance set against the backdrop of The Barn’s picturesque forecourt.
This 15-hatted dining destination sits within Spicers Hidden Vale on Granchester-Mt Mort Road and delivers Modern Australian dishes that pay homage to the land, local farmers and produce from the Darling Downs and Lockyer Valley.
Immerse yourself in the magical ambience as staff gracefully power down and allow the intimate glow of candles to illuminate the night beneath a starlit sky while soothing melodies of an acoustic musician elevate your evening and you indulge in a carefully curated four-course menu, prepared over an open flame.
Expect dishes such as fermented flatbread, kangaroo and anise myrtle salami, pistachio crème and fermented chilli honey to start; followed by dry-aged Murray cod, spit-roasted Black Angus sirloin, duck fat and truffle roast potatoes and a Cobb salad.

Not to be outdone, 12-hatted The Balfour Kitchen in New Farm is hosting Dinner en Noire on Saturday with a locally and sustainably sourced and prepared four-course menu by Head Chef Dann Rowell.
Set in a beautiful Queenslander, guests can dine on the verandah, enjoy relaxed gatherings under frangipanis in the courtyard, or cocktails on the rooftop bar as the sun sets over Brisbane’s Storey Bridge.
Only minimal candlelight will be used to celebrate Earth Hour setting the scene for a truly unique dining experience starting with masterstock broth, radish and lotus root, followed by a Saigon lobster and caviar sando.
For the main, expect pork belly, sweet potato, panisse, capsicum, or squid, mandarin, lemongrass and bok choy; dark chocolate cake, cherry and nutmeg butter make for the perfect finish.
