Celebrate Persian New Year with this Stuffed Dates Recipe from Exotic Bazaar

Nowruz – Iranian or Persian New Year – is celebrated in many countries across the world today, March 20, with large gatherings fo friends and family, street festivals, bonfires, fireworks, poetry and folk music.

Meaning ‘New Day’, the celebration marks the first day of a new year on the Iranian calendar and usually coincides with a date between March 19-March 22. Originating more than 3000 years ago, the festival symbolises renewal and harmony with nature.

Celebrate Persian New Year with this Stuffed Dates Recipe from Exotic Bazaar

To join in the celebration, try this recipe for stuffed dates with whipped feta, mint and nuts, from Exotic Bazaar founder and Chef, Gilava Pour.

Dates have been a staple in Middle Eastern diets for centuries - and for good reason. These naturally sweet gems aren’t just delicious, they’re packed with fibre, essential minerals and slow-releasing sugars that help maintain steady energy levels.

Unlike refined sugar, which causes quick spikes and crashes, dates provide a more balanced source of sweetness, making them a great option for a wholesome snack or appetiser.

By pairing dates with whipped feta, fresh mint and crunchy nuts, you can create the perfect bite - creamy, sweet, salty and crip, all in one. This recipe is simple yet elegant enough to serve at a gathering.
