Cheer, feast and fiesta together at Maheno’s on Rainbow Beach Road in Rainbow Beach. This Mexican alleyway cantina and bar oozes authenticity with a rainbow and cactus mural, sombreros on the walls and twinkling fairy lights to set the mood for tacos and tequila with amigos. Say arriba to a salty Margarita cocktail and baby back pork ribs with chilli caramel sauce to start your adventure, before wrapping your hands around sizzling spicy chicken tacos with Monterey Jack cheese.
Why should you drop in for a meal at Maheno’s? Here are three good reasons:
What’s your most popular dish/drink:
At Maheno’s, we pride ourselves on our signature sizzling tacos, served on hot plates that keep them cooking right at your table. Our menu features an array of Tex-Mex, fresh salads and soups, alongside housemade sauces that are so popular, you can purchase them by the bottle to enjoy at home.
What's your point of difference:
Our decor embodies rustic Mexican charm, featuring live wood tables, real cacti and romantic twinkling fairy lights that create an enchanting ambience. Our large cocktail list includes must-try classic salty or spicy Margaritas that perfectly complement our dishes.
We cater to all tastes with a diverse menu that includes not just Mexican specialties, but also burgers, steaks and fish. Whether you prefer high top tables in the bar, relaxed lounge areas, cafe-style dining in the alleyway, or dining for larger groups in the back, we have a spot for you. Additionally, our picnic tables offer the perfect place to soak up the sun.
What is a fun fact that not many people know about the venue?
Our walls tell a story of community and creativity. Local artists have infused our space with colourful murals, each contributing their unique touch. Among the vibrant artwork, we've hidden 15 donkeys for children to find, adding a playful element that rewards successful searchers with their polaroid displayed on our Maheno's Gallery wall.
We have a close-knit team at Maheno’s, with our aim to make all our staff and, by extension, our customers, feel like members of the family. The owner, Kirsty Eaves, heads up front of house with her Mum Donna Eaves by her side while the kitchen is run by husband and wife team, Mitchell Courtenay and his partner Karley Jones.
